a fully automated local city guide for Ottawa — publishing daily news, food, real estate, arts, and events content powered by AI. articles are generated from RSS feeds, Instagram, and Reddit, then auto-published with SEO-optimized copy and cover images.
challenge
building a self-sustaining content platform that sources, writes, images, and publishes Ottawa news articles automatically — without manual editorial work — while maintaining quality and local relevance.
solution
Next.js 16 site backed by Supabase, with a local launchd pipeline that runs hourly. Claude AI writes 400–600 word articles with Ottawa SEO, Pexels supplies cover images, and Resend handles the newsletter. Vercel hosts the live site at ottown.ca.
